    • Residential housing design primarily used are dormitory style, multiple beds per bedroom, shared living space
    • One and Two bedroom attached Casitas with communal gardens, common parking, maximum 12 units
    • Duplex style manufactured homes 1 and 2 bedroom with individual living space and parking

RANCHO designs and constructs residential housing with the use of the intended resident in mind.  Residential living facilities provide a greater level of safety, economy, and community.  Shared facilities and amenities reduce costs while still providing on-site access.

Many who live in residential living enjoy the communal feeling of near-by neighbors but respect the privacy providing in the separation of space which also provides for maximum utilization of space and resources.  Residential facilities also create a one-stop environment for providing services to tenants.  These services can range from health and education to job training and

Through the assistance of DACE, Empowerment Zone funds, and jurisdictional partners, RANCHO seeks to provide single family detached homes within the communities of Coachella, Mecca, Ripley, Mesa Verde, Thermal, and Blythe. These properties are strategically located as to support the principles of Smart Growth and Walkable Communities.

Smart Growth and Walkable Communities principles encourage planning and development to support homes being built within walking distance of goods, services, and employment.  This concept reduces the need for automobiles and thus reduces congestion and auto emissions that have been proven damaging to human and environmental health. Additionally, the benefits to daily living by having goods and services within close proximity to housing has become a development standard.  These amenities along with existing schools, parks, and entertainment venues are designed around the notion of “location, location, location”.

RANCHO utilizes the latest innovations in materials and design in modifiable housing plans or manufactured homes to provide homes that have high architectural appeal, the latest in modern amenities, and maximize use of available space.  Home sizes will range from three-bedroom up to five-bedroom family homes on lot sizes ranging from 5000 to 6500 square feet..

RANCHO incorporates the principles of the Empowerment Zone and the mission of DACE by:

  • Integrating resident input throughout the planning and development process
  • Securing community partners for financing, planning, development, and construction
  • Insuring sustainable growth by increasing value of existing housing stock, repurposing blighted properties, creating new opportunities for affordable home ownership and generating revenues for future project investment
  • Promoting economic opportunities in construction jobs for local residents and self-sufficiency
  • Achieving strategic vision for change by improving infrastructure, improving economic base, and promoting healthier communities
